He told me about an incident in Victoria a few years ago. He was walking on the street and a young girl, neo-hippie-like, sat happily on the sidewalk with a spread of very interesting and precious goods before her on a printed cotton cloth.

He saw an animal skull he liked; he was collecting them at the time and using them in art installations and 3D works. He asked her how much it was, and she said it was free.

She said everything was free, he could just take what he liked. He laughed. He didn't believe her. She said, "Yes, it's free." He laughed again, and said, "Can I take the skull?" She smiled and gave it to him.
